Found on the outer edge of the film, the magnetic audio stripe was the predominant way to incorporate sound on film in 8mm and Super 8 formats. This module includes everything you need to read and record magnetic sound from any 8mm format with your Axion film scanner.
The all-new tape head and custom-tailored circuitry gives an impressive signal-to-noise ratio, and the integrated encoder wheel virtually eliminates wow and flutter in conjunction with our patent-pending Speed-Matched Dynamic Sampling technology (SMDS™). It dynamically samples the audio signal to match the exact speed of the film, giving clean, clear output. Paired with a special low-flutter drive mode, the Axion Scanner delivers clean, reliable audio every time.
