Found on the outer edge of the film, the magnetic audio stripe was one way to incorporate sound on 16mm, typically in higher fidelity than the common optical track. This module includes everything you need to read and record magnetic audio from 16mm films with your Axion film scanner.
The all-new tape head and custom-tailored circuitry gives an impressive signal-to-noise ratio, and the integrated encoder wheel virtually eliminates wow and flutter in conjunction with our patent-pending Speed-Matched Dynamic Sampling technology (SMDS™). It dynamically samples the audio signal to match the exact speed of the film, giving clean, clear output. Paired with a special low-flutter drive mode, the Axion Scanner delivers clean, reliable audio every time.
